Trip Advisor is a travel phenomenon that has reinvented how we research our holidays. Even though we continue to take advice from travel agents, guidebooks and friends, more often we are turning to this vast online community to find out what a place is like from people who’ve been.

Thanks to Trip Advisor’s users, the website has compiled Traveller’s Choice Best Destinations for 2012. If you’re thinking of a staycation this year, here are the 10 spots that came out top in the UK.
